Green Circle Trails - Easiest
Highlights
Foothill Road: Foothill Road is one of, if not, the longest green circle trails at Upper Ranch. Foothill Road forms a large loop and primarily serves the northern portion of Upper Ranch. It is the main road that leads to the Area 5 gate as well as the obstacle course and restrooms.
McCray Road: McCray Road serves as the main North-South route in the park. It leads from the main park gate by Vineyard School to Bonanza Gulch Road at which point it turns into a Blue Square Trail leading up to Hector Heights.
Garner Flat Road: Garner Flat Road parallels McCray Road and serves as a feed into trails leading to The Quarry and Truck Hill. The new Obstacle Course is located on Garner Flat Road.
Blue Square Trails - More Difficult
Highlights
McCray Road: McCray Road leads up to Hector Heights, the highest peak in Upper Ranch, located in the south-western end of the park. Hill Climb Return from Truck Hill feeds into this trail. McCray Road becomes a Green Circle Trail past Bonanza Gulch Road
Bonanza Gulch Road: Bonanza Gulch Road is a popular route amongst advanced drivers as it meanders through a network of advanced to extreme trails in the southern end of the park. It feeds Truck Hill, The Gulch, V-Groove and a series of unlisted advanced trails.
West Trail: West Trail brings you to The Quarry, the popular intersection at McCray Road and Fremontia Road, and the mysterious Lost Hollow Trail.
Lost Hollow Trail: Marked as a Blue Square Trail, Lost Hollow can easily be upgraded to a Black Diamond due to steep hill climbs, off-camber sections and deep ruts. Legend has it that Lost Hollow is possessed by spirits of former wheelers who liked to watch people break their rigs. The comment, "Something bad always happens on that trail," continues to fuel the legend. Do you believe?
Black Diamond Trails - Most Difficult
Highlights
Fremontia Road: Fremontia Road is located in the south-western portion of the park. It leads up to Hector Heights and the formidable White Rock Trail. Fremontia is known for its steep climbs and a couple rutted out sections that will be sure to create some pucker.
Chapparal Trail: Chaparral Trail is a tight, winding trail on the eastern edge of the park. It is known for a steep climb out of Sycamore Camp and one extremely eroded section that has busted a ring or two going up. Coming down the eroded section is sure to create a mighty fine "scary poo moment."
White Rock: Made up of loose dirt, rock and shale, White Rock has a reputation of tearing up tires, bending tail pipes and occasionally killing gears.
Truck Hill: Check it out.
Triple Black Diamond Trails - Extremely Difficult
Highlights
The Gulch: The Gulch is an extremely narrow trail that serves as a drainage run. Many moments are spent tipping to one side or another with roots and dirt walls within reach. Sheet metal damage possible.
V Groove: *not recommended for FJCs* V Groove is a trench located in the triangle formed by Bonanza Gulch Road and McCray Road. Sections of the trench reach as high as your roofline. Sheet metal damage damage highly likely.
Tank Traps: *not recommended for FJCs* One of the key features of the annual Top Truck Challenge, Tank Traps is well-suited for heavily modified vehicles/buggies. Sheet metal damage extremely likely before and after you get stuck.
